Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA)
(Surakarta City / 10-12 September 2020). Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) is a masterpiece of performing arts held in the Vastenburg Fort area. Since 2009, SIPA has always involved artists across continents, Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and America. The performances are always colossal by utilizing a spectacular outdoor stage set against the ancient and mighty Fort Vastenburg. SIPA also serves Culinary Bazaar, Crafts, Merchandise and SIPA Mart.

 

Srikandi Mustakaweni Dance

Srikandi Mustakaweni dance is a dance that depicts the war between 2 women named Dewi Srikandhi and Dewi Mustakaweni. This dance has a heroic theme (heroism) performed in pairs of women. Each of them has almost the same character, that is, they both have the character of Putri Lanyap (firm, but kemayu). Srikandhi Mustakaweni’s character is cheerful and has a slightly shrill voice.

 

Solo Laweyan Batik Village
It is said that according to the story, the age of Kampung Laweyan is much older than the Kasunanan Palace where the Laweyan area in Solo has existed with its batik since the Pajang Kingdom came to power in Central Java in the mid-16th century. The houses in Laweyan are built with a touch of European architecture that is majestic and sturdy. In the past, these houses were the residences of batik merchants. But now, the village which stands on an area of 24 hectares is divided into three blocks of houses – houses lined up.
